The Mobiles for Education Alliance 9th Annual Symposium: Call for Presentations and Participants
The 9th Annual Mobiles for Education Alliance Symposium will take place in Washington, DC on October 9-11, 2019. The event brings together thought leaders in the field of information and communications technology for education (ICT4E), including policymakers and practitioners from government, leading donor organizations, the private sector, NGOs, ICT4E researchers, and other innovators.
Led by the Mobiles for Education Steering Committee, the Symposium is designed to explore the myriad of educational challenges typically found in lower-resource, developing country contexts, including: inadequate numbers of trained teachers; millions of in- and out-of-school learners who lack appropriate access to and instruction in foundational skills such as reading, writing, and socio-emotional skills; and the absence of other essential building blocks (e. g, health, food, and safety) for reaching an individual’s full potential.
This year the Symposium will focus on how enhancing digital literacy acquisition, instruction, and extension leads to improved national and community development outcomes. The Symposium features interactive sessions and formats, including dynamic panel presentations, gallery walks, and intentional networking opportunities. Visit the Symposium website to find out more about this year’s theme and sub-themes. We also encourage you to explore key learnings and presentations from the 2018 Symposium.
Presentation proposals are due before Friday, June 28, 2019 and are reviewed on a rolling basis.
The event is invite-only. To request an invitation for this year’s Symposium registration, please email cole@meducationalliance.org.
