A Guide for Gender Equality in Teacher Education Policy and Practices

One important step towards achieving gender equality is to mainstream gender in the education process through curricula and teacher training. This requires that educational institutions adopt responsive policies and plans, transform institutional environments, provide gender-sensitive services, and ensure gender-responsive budgeting in their curriculum and pedagogical approaches. The Guide for Gender Equality in Teacher Education Policy and Practices has been conceived to be a practical tool to promote a gender-responsive institutional culture. It seeks to strengthen the capacity of teacher educators, managers and student teachers to transform their practices effectively through innovative participatory approaches to teaching and learning.
