Where It's Needed Most: Quality Professional Development for All Teachers
There is increasing awareness that teachers, like all professionals, must be carefully recruited and prepared to be teachers, and developed professionally throughout the course of their careers in order to be effective. However, teacher professional development in low-income and crisis-affected contexts remains an under-researched domain, further perpetuating the cycle of poor teacher professional development and, consequently, poor overall education delivery in the parts of the world most in need of both. This guide addresses this gap by outlining seven recommendations of best practices in high-quality professional development for teachers who work in crisis-affected contexts.
